Main window
The main window consists of a menu bar, a toolbar, a middle section with various tabs and a status bar.
It is convenient to be able to view as much data as possible at once. A limiting factor is the screen resolution. That's why we chose to support 2 different screen layouts:
- Layout with 3 tabs for a standard screen
- Layout with 2 tabs for screens starting from 1500x1000
ATM determines which layout is suitable based on the screen size.
However, it is also possible to explicitly opt for a specific layout, which can be set with
Tools 
Settings Behavior.
In this manual, the different components are discussed using the layout for standard screens:
Entering data is described in Data entry, connecting and disconnecting partners, children and parents is explained in Connections.
Status bar
The following information can be found on the status bar at the bottom of the main window. From left to right:
- The ID number of the selected person
- Date and time the person was added
- Date and time when the person's data was last changed
- A message that automatically disappears after 10 seconds, such as 'File saved' or 'Undone: Birth date of Maria Klaassen'
- The total number of people in the database
